National Stadium-Stadium Structure

The National Stadium (Bird's Nest), located in the south of the central area of Beijing Olympic Park, is the main stadium for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. It covers an area of 204,000 square meters, with a building area of 258,000 square meters and can accommodate 91,000 spectators. The opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, track and field competitions and football finals were held.

It can be said that the Bird's Nest incorporates the most advanced construction technology in the world. The most important thing is that all materials are made of steel. According to statistics from relevant departments, nearly 42,000 tons of various steel materials were used in the entire Bird's Nest.

These steels are not ordinary steels, but environmentally friendly materials full of technology, especially some load-bearing materials, which use a kind of Q460 low-alloy steel. This kind of steel is difficult to cast, but it has super load-bearing performance.

The entire Bird's Nest is 320 meters long, 297 meters wide and 69 meters high. It has a construction area of 258,000 square meters and can accommodate more than 91,000 spectators. When viewed from the air, it is a beautifully built Bird's Nest. Almost every piece of the 40,000 tons of steel has a different shape.
