Detailed introduction and new applications of prepainted zn-al-mg steel coil:
Zinc-aluminum-magnesium is an alloy metal, mainly used for surface corrosion protection of steel and steel products, including various zinc series coatings and a large number of steel parts for whole-piece immersion corrosion protection; the metal used for surface corrosion protection of steel products was pure zinc at the beginning. With the development and improvement of technology, alloy metals such as aluminum-zinc alloy and zinc-aluminum-magnesium alloy have appeared one after another, increasing the corrosion resistance of the metal layer.
Zinc-aluminum-magnesium coated steel coils refer to coated steel coils with a certain amount of Al and Mg added to the existing hot-dip galvanized coating or a certain amount of Mg element added to the hot-dip aluminum-zinc coating, which have the characteristics of high corrosion resistance and high cutting edge protection performance.
The magnesium content in most coatings is ≤3%. According to the different aluminum content in the coating, zinc-aluminum-magnesium coatings are divided into:
(1) Low aluminum-zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating, aluminum content: 1-3.5%. This coating is formed by adding a certain amount of aluminum, magnesium and other elements to hot-dip galvanizing. This coating is an upgraded version of hot-dip pure zinc coating in terms of corrosion resistance.
(2) Medium aluminum-zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating, aluminum content: 5~11%
(3) High aluminum-zinc-aluminum-magnesium coating, aluminum content: 55%. This coating is formed by adding a certain amount of magnesium and other elements to hot-dip aluminum-zinc. The steel coils with this coating have also been tested in color-coated units, and high aluminum-zinc-aluminum-magnesium substrate color-coated steel coils have been successfully developed. This coating is an upgraded version of hot-dip aluminum-zinc coating in terms of corrosion resistance.
