Unlocking The Versatile Applications of Color-Coated Steel Sheets in Modern Construction

Color-coated steel sheets are widely used in the construction industry, mainly in the following aspects:

1. Public buildings:

Color-coated steel sheets are often used for roofs and walls of public buildings such as stadiums, stations, exhibition halls, and theaters due to their beauty and durability. They require high color retention, anti-powdering, and surface quality. Polyvinylidene fluoride coating or HDP coating is usually used with a thickness of 25μm, mostly light-colored, and applied by double coating and double baking. 

2. Residential buildings: 

Color-coated steel sheets are also used for residential buildings, villas, sentry boxes, interior decoration, etc. These buildings are usually located in living areas and require beautiful and personalized colors and patterns, such as wood grain, brick grain, marble grain, and other customized pattern printed steel sheets.

3. Prefabricated houses:

On construction sites, color-coated steel sheets are used as temporary offices, dormitories, storage rooms, etc. When choosing, more attention is paid to practicality and cost. It is recommended to use ordinary color-coated steel sheets, the substrate is galvanized sheet, and PE coating is used as the topcoat. 

4. Industrial plants and warehouses:

In general industrial plants and warehouses, due to the non-corrosive use environment, more attention is paid to practicality and cost-effectiveness when choosing color-coated steel plates, and PE color-coated steel plates are widely used.

5. Chemical plants and steel mills:

These environments are highly corrosive. It is recommended to use PVDF or HDP coated steel plates. The double-sided zinc layer of the substrate is not less than 120g/㎡, and the paint thickness is not less than 25μm/15μm.

6. Mining industry:

The color-coated plates used in mining sites have high requirements for corrosion resistance. It is recommended to choose SMP (silicon modified polyester) coated color steel plates, which have excellent anti-corrosion, anti-scratch and wear resistance.

7. Textile/electronic workshops:

In these industries, color-coated steel plates should have anti-static properties and be coated with special conductive pigments.

8. Food and pharmaceutical industries:

The surface of the color-coated steel plates used in these industries is covered with a special antibacterial coating, which has a non-toxic and semi-permanent antibacterial effect.

9. Arched roof panels:

used in stadiums, trading markets, exhibition halls, warehouses and other fields, high-strength color-coated panels are required, and the base material with a yield strength of 280-550Mpa is recommended.

10. Curtain wall:

Curtain wall color-coated panels require high strength, low maintenance, or good self-cleaning ability. High-strength color-coated panels are recommended, and PVDF and HDP coatings are recommended for topcoats.

11. Coastal areas:

Due to high humidity and salt spray climate, it is recommended to use PVDF or HDP color steel plates, and the base material is AZ150 GL plate or Z275 GI plate, and the topcoat thickness is not less than 25μm.
